Platinum Spinal Centre FAQs

Common Questions Answered

Question marksAre you considering joining the Platinum Spinal Centre community? We are glad to answer any questions or concerns you might have for us before committing to our practice.

Once I go to the chiropractor, will I always have to go?

No. Once you begin feeling better, it is entirely up to you to decide whether or not maintenance care is right for you. Many patients do, however, choose to make chiropractic care a part of their lifestyle after experiencing the benefits of care. We’d like to keep you well for years to come.

How many adjustments will I need?

This is entirely dependent on your specific case. We do a thorough assessment to better understand your needs and help us create a plan of care that is right for you.

Can I get adjusted if I’ve had surgery?

Yes, you can get adjusted if you’ve had surgery. Chiropractors often welcome post-surgical patients and those with a history of surgery. We offer a variety of adjustment techniques to better assist each individual patient.

How long are appointments?

Your initial consultation will be no more than 45 minutes in duration. During this time, we will review your health history and conduct your complete chiropractic assessment. Your final intake visit will be about 30 minutes long. At this time, we will go over your test results and suggested care plan.

Regular appointments are no more than 10 minutes from start to finish.

Do chiropractic adjustments hurt?

Chiropractic adjustments do not hurt. Most patients tell us that chiropractic adjustments are relaxing. While it does not happen often, chiropractic adjustments are sometimes followed by slight soreness the next day. This soreness is comparable to post-workout soreness at most.

Please note that if you come to us in severe pain, you can be confident that we will adjust you as gently as possible. Our hope is to work with your body and keep you comfortable during your time with us.

Will I get adjusted on my first visit?

Generally, no. We require sufficient time to assess and then analyse the results of the tests conducted so we ensure we create a plan that is safe and appropriate for you.

Do I need X-rays?

If clinically indicated, yes. This determination will be made at the time of your first appointment. If it is decided that you do need an X-ray prior to proceeding, we offer on-site X-rays for your convenience in Werribee and Gladstone.
